Mocha is a port on the Red Sea and it
became famous because of its spices, dates, coffee,
aloe, and aromatic gums (incense, myrrh and balm of
Mecca) trade.
The coffee seeds come from small trees grown
to the west of Mocha and are renowned throughout the Muslim
world. They were also used as a form of currency by the Dutch
India company in its factories in Persia and Sourate.
